Honeywell Launches Real-Time Connectivity to ATC for Business Aviation
The Honeywell Global Data Center (GDC) has launched a new, integrated flight data management system which provides real-time connectivity to the FAA's Enhanced Traffic Management System (ETMS). GDC's new system will enable Flight SentinelSM subscribers to enjoy the technical advantages of the FAAs Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) program, which may include priority departure slots, flight swapping, and other features designed to trim costs and minimize delays.
CDM is one element of the FAA's Free Flight program which gives qualified users real-time access to airspace status and advanced notification of pending programs to be implemented by the FAA such as Ground Delays, Ground Stops, GAAP, Playbook Routes, and Coded Departure Routes. At the nations most congested airports, ETMS connectivity will enable Flight Sentinel subscribers to enjoy air traffic control benefits available only to airlines in the past.
As an early adopter of the FAA's CDM program, GDC's concierge Flight Sentinel service was launched in May 2003. The experts at Flight Sentinel utilize special tools to analyze ETMS data and provide up-to-the-minute situational awareness and personalized flight planning for subscribers. As more corporate flight departments are discovering each month, Flight Sentinel is designed to increase safety, save time, and trim operating costs by reducing ATC delays for subscribers. With GDCs newly activated ETMS connectivity, Flight Sentinel provides the highest level of service for domestic U.S. operators.
