The Global Data Center (GDC) is one of several global businesses that comprise Honeywell International, a diversified technology and manufacturing leader. Honeywell serves customers in the Aerospace, Control Technologies, Automotive products, Specialty Chemicals, Fibers, and Electronic Materials industries.

Honeywell’s GDC has been a leader in Datalink and Flight Support Services for over 25 years. It started testing Datalink communications to and from corporate aircraft in 1984, and began offering Datalink communications via satellite in 1986. The GDC moved its operations from Irvine, California to Redmond, Washington in 1991.

In addition to its suite of flight planning and support services, the Global Data Center started providing its unique Flight Sentinel service in 2003. Although most services were initially only available over the phone through our operations team, from 2005 onwards, nearly all services were made available on the internet.

The Global Data Center’s suite of web-based applications provide the following services:

Flight Sentinel is a proactive, concierge-style service that provides delay avoidance and active re-routing to keep aircraft on schedule. This results in improved safety and significant time and money savings.

· Flight Sentinel (FS) provides personalized flight planning with datalink communications and real time flight following thereby enhancing the flight safety and mitigating the impact of adverse weather and air traffic delays.

· State-of-the-art flight management tools oversee the filing process and provide operational benefits from the FAA's Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) program.

· Contract Pilot Services.

Honeywell's flight planning service couples a robust routing engine and aircraft, navigation, and weather data sources to provide accurate performance calculations and routes. The web-based flight planning tool is simple and intuitive with user-friendly point-and-click menus.

· Flight plans can be optimized for minimum time or minimum fuel.

· Stores aircraft profiles, preferred routes and more to reduce the data entry time.

· Supports multiple fight plan output formats as well as third party flight plans to ensure compatibility.

· Improves the first time acceptance rate.

GDC provides a wide range of aviation and simple language weather information. Weather services include textual and graphical weather products. Access to these services is available through telephone, MyGDC.com, and in real time through datalink.

Honeywell's reliable datalink communication system helps crews stay in control with airborne two way messaging. The system provides reliable connectivity to communicate with Ops, Fixed Based Operators (FBO), Flight Data Specialists at the GDC, e-mail, fax machines, other aircraft, and much more.
