Most operators are familiar with current and upcoming mandates for Future Air Navigation System (FANS 1/A and FANS 1/A+) and Protected Mode Controller Pilot Data Link Communication (PM-CPDLC, otherwise known as ATN-B1 or Link 2000+) certification. In order to comply with these mandates, operators may need approval from their State of registry.

New MyGDC enhancements coming soon

On April 20th the Honeywell GDC will be introducing enhancements to the MyGDC.com website and MyGDC iPad app which will allow for easier management of your online account, seamless access to other Honeywell online tools and an increased level of online security. In order to enable these new features all GDC users will be required to migrate from using their current GDC ID to a new common Honeywell ID which can be used for all Honeywell online tools. For those customers who already have a Honeywell ID, you will be able to start using it to login to the GDC website starting on April 20th. iPad users will be required to download the new mandatory version of the MyGDC app (version 3.3.3), which will be available around April 13th, to facilitate this migration. After April 20th users will have a 2 weeks to create their Honeywell ID’s. After that time frame the GDC ID will no longer be supported

New MyGDC enhancements:
• Self-management of credentials - users will be able to change password, recover forgotten password, change user information and retrieve forgotten username using our online tool.
• Common username/password for all Honeywell online tools - The same set of credentials can be used to access other Honeywell tools such as www.myaerospace.com, pilots.honeywell.com, etc.
• Single Sign On - Once you are logged on to any one of the Honeywell tools you will not be asked to login again while opening any other Honeywell tools.
• Improved security - Through stronger password rules customer accounts are more secure.

Honeywell Global Data Center – FANS and PM-CPDLC Data Link Service Provider

Most operators are familiar with current and upcoming mandates for Future Air Navigation System (FANS 1/A and FANS 1/A+) and Protected Mode Controller Pilot Data Link Communication (PM-CPDLC, otherwise known as ATN-B1 or Link 2000+) certification. In order to comply with these mandates, operators may need approval from their State of registry.

While seeking approval, the required equipment upgrades usually receive the most attention, followed by the application process. It is often during that process when an operator learns they are required to have an approved data link Communication Service Provider (CSP).

The good news is that Honeywell Global Data Center (GDC) data link customers already have an approved CSP. The GDC gives customers access to approved VHF data link networks, including ARINC and SITA, which deliver all Controller Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) and Automated Dependant Surveillance Contract (ADS-C) traffic per standards defined in the ICAO Global Operational Data Link (GOLD) Document.

The GDC also provides customers with Inmarsat’s Satellite Communication (SATCOM) FANS capability in remote and oceanic airspace. Aircraft equipped with approved SATCOM systems enable operators to take full advantage of FANS and reduced separation operations in the North Atlantic Organized Track System and other remote regions.

FANS over Iridium Short Burst Data (SBD) will be available to GDC customers in the near future.

Customers may identify Honeywell Global Data Center as their data link service provider on their State of registry application, and GDC Account Services (gdc email) can provide proof of data link service on request.
